UConn Police Charge Ex-Student with Altering Grades: Report
The suspect is accused of stealing a professor's computer log-in to change both his grade and those of fellow students.
GROTON, CT - A Mystic man, who reportedly is now a former student of the University of Connecticut at Avery Point in Groton, is facing charges that he allegedly stole a professor’s online identity in order to change his and classmates’ grades.
Campus police obtained an arrest warrant that charged Omar Hassan Faraj, 18, of 236 Pumpkin Hill Rd., Mystic, with two counts of second-degree forgery and two counts of third-degree computer crime, according to The Day. Faraj reportedly surrendered to police on Monday.
Police said Faraj, who has since been dismissed from the university, is accused of stealing the computer log-in from a chemistry professor and altering both his grade and those of eight other students on two occasions in December, according to The Day report that can be found here.
