UConn School of Pharmacy Gets $5 Million 100th Anniversary Gift

STORRS, CT — Philip and Lorraine Hritcko have pledged a sizable gift to a University of Connecticut program near and dear to them.
As the UConn School of Pharmacy celebrates its 100th anniversary, the Hritckos have made history of their own with a $5 million planned gift, one of the largest in the school’s century-long existence.
What UConn officials are calling a "transformational bequest," builds on "a legacy of giving that already includes scholarships and deep involvement in student support."

It's a gesture rooted not just in philanthropy, but in a vision for the School’s next century, school officials said.
Phil Hritcko, who is the dean of the School of Pharmacy, and Lorraine, the managing director and head of risk solutions at Conning, said they both strongly believe in giving back.

And the couple is also are dedicated to alleviating the difficulties that many first-generation students face.
The Hritckos’ bequest will provide scholarships and funding for the school, supporting the University’s fundraising campaign to "put students first and support academic and innovation excellence."
