UConn Student Falls Ill in Dorm, Dies

University of Connecticut student Jesse D. Richeeds died early Sunday morning after falling ill in a dormitory, the Hartford Courant reports.

Richeeds, a resident of the Danielson section of Killingly, was having difficulty breathing in Shippee Hall, the Courant said. Emergency responders took the student to Windham Hospital, where he died, according to the Courant.


Police report that an initial investigation did not reveal any contributing factors to Richeeds' death except for a pre-existing medical condition, according to the Norwich Bulletin.

Counseling is being offered for students.
