UConn Women's Basketball Team Hits Incredible Milestone
The Huskies' 100-game winning streak is just the fourth such stretch in history across all NCAA sports.

The University of Connecticut women's basketball team won its 100th game in a row Monday night, capping off what is just the fourth-ever such winning streak in history across all NCAA sports.
And the team's centennial win did not come at the hands of a lifeless, pushover team. The No. 1 Huskies took down South Carolina, which came into the game with a 21-2 record.
The Gamecocks, though, were no match for head coach Geno Auriemma's juggernaut, which secured the 66-55 victory in front of a raucous home crowd.

For those of you who have lost track (and we wouldn't blame you if you had), the team's last loss came in overtime against Stanford on Nov. 17, 2014. The streak started with a win over Creighton six days later.
Since that win, the Huskies have won two national championships, including last year's, which came at the end of an undefeated season.

Last month, the school set the NCAA basketball record — both men's and women's — for consecutive wins at 91 with a win over SMU. That win broke the record previously held by... the Huskies, who went on a 90-game winning streak between 2008 and 2010. Before that, John Wooden’s UCLA men’s team had won 88 straight games in the early 1970s.
According to ESPN, the streak has included a whopping 56 wins by more than 40 points, and the 11-point win over South Carolina was the 42nd win of the streak by 10 to 39 points.
Just two of the 100 games in the winning streak came by a margin of nine points or fewer.
The Huskies' quest to extend their winning streak continues on Saturday with a trip to Tulane. The Green Wave have a 15-10 record so far this season.
