1 Medal Of Bravery To Be Awarded To Milford Firefighter

Milford Fire Department will recognize individuals and companies who have demonstrated selfless acts of dedication over the past few years.

MILFORD, CT — Milford Fire Department will hold an awards ceremony to recognize individuals and companies who have demonstrated selfless dedication over the past few years.

The awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 14, at 7 p.m. at the Parson’s Government Center (Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium), 70 West River St.

The event will include the New Haven County Firefighters Emerald Society Pipes and Drums, the Milford Fire Department Honor Guard, and several speakers, including Milford Mayor Richard Smith, Interim Fire Chief Anthony Fabrizi and Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners Kevin McGrath.

Adam Hansen, Milford Fire Department PIO, said that within the past two years, the Milford Fire Department has experienced an unprecedented number of hiring of new firefighters and promotions of officers to ranks.

A swearing-in of new firefighters will include four Battalion chiefs, Four Captains, Seven Lieutenants and 16 firefighters.

The award ceremony will include nine-Unit Citations, six Meritorious Service Awards and one Medal of Bravery.
