Fire Breaks Out At Milford Facility
Firefighters responded to the call Thursday morning.

MILFORD, CT — A fire broke out at a power plant in Milford on Thursday morning, according to fire officials.
Firefighters responded to the call at 734 Naugatuck Ave. in Devon. There was a report of a fire in the turbine room.
Crews found smoldering insulation around the turbine engine which is used to generate electricity. The fire was extinguished using several DryChems, fire officials said.

Firefighters pulled insulation away from the engine to ensure the blaze was completely extinguished and to limit the damage.
The fire department responded to another similar incident at a 55 Shelland St. power plant on Sept. 16.
