The timeline of concern is between 4-10 p.m. Thursday.
"Storms will be possible in the afternoon and early evening hours as a cold front approaches from the west (they could be strong to severe). Lightning, heavy rain, damaging wind gusts, and hail will be the top threats, though an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out. The main round is expected from west to east between 2pm-10pm," according to WFSB 3 TV meteorologists.

Heat wave forecast
"The confidence in an extended period of high heat and humidity is increasing for early next week. The heat may begin on Sunday and linger through Wednesday, peaking on Monday and Tuesday. Lows at night may not offer much relief with high humidity persisting. Continue to monitor the forecast for details on this potentially significant heat wave," the weather service said in a statement.
The sun, which conveniently has gone missing once again, is expected to return on Friday.
Temperatures are forecast to soar into the 90s by Monday of next week.
