Knife Displayed During Robbery At Macy's, 2 Charged: Milford PD

Officers responded to Macy's on July 15 around 3:39 p.m., Milford Police Department said.

MILFORD, CT – Milford Police Department said Shoshana Moskowitz, 25, of Cheshire, and Juan Cartagena, 50, of New Haven, were charged with robbery after stealing merchandise from Macy’s.

Around 3:39 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at Macy’s (1201 Boston Post Rd) on Saturday, July 15.

Police said the loss prevention officer observed Moskowitz and Cartagena take merchandise from the store and exit without paying.

The loss prevention officer approached Moskowitz and Cartagena when Cartagena took a knife and pointed it at the loss prevention officer, police said.

Police said a description was given to responding officers, and an officer observed Moskowitz and Cartagena walking from the mall near the intersection of Boston Post Road and East Town Road.

Moskowitz and Cartagena were detained without incident and were positively identified as the suspects involved in the robbery, police said.

Police said the knife used in the robbery was found in Cartagena’s possession.

Moskowitz was charged with 1st-degree robbery, 1st-degree conspiracy to commit/robbery, 5th-degree larceny and 5th-degree conspiracy to commit/larceny. Moskowitz posted a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Milford Superior Court on Aug. 8, police said.

Cartagena was charged with 1st-degree robbery, 1st-degree conspiracy to commit/robbery, 5th-degree larceny, 5th-degree conspiracy to commit/larceny and 2nd-degree threatening. Cartagena was given a $10,000 bond. Parole issued a remand to a custody order, and Cartagena was arraigned in Milford Superior Court on April 17, police said.
