Indoor Pickleball Facility Proposed In Milford
Attorney Thomas Lynch, representing Shoreline Pickleball LLC., said they hope to be on the Milford Planning and Zoning Agenda in June.

MILFORD, CT — What started as a fun hobby has become a business venture for a group of Milford friends.
Brian Malia and his business partner Patrick Oliver have started Shoreline Pickleball LLC. and are proposing an indoor pickleball facility at 333 Quarry Rd.
“We want to create a community environment for all ages,” said Malia. “We want to make this a Milford staple where the Milford community has a place to come and enjoy pickleball all year round.”

Attorney Thomas Lynch, representing Shoreline Pickleball LLC., said the application was sent to the Planning and Zoning Board, and they are hoping to be on the agenda in June.
Malia said the plan is to open Shoreline Pickleball by Sept. 1.

“We had a couple of friends in the neighborhood introduce myself and my wife to pickleball probably about a year and a half ago, and it was an instant love with the sport,” Malia said.
After they started playing more and more pickleball, Malia said they noticed it was a little hard to get courts in Milford.
“I reached out to the local real estate person I worked with and told him I was looking to do a pickleball facility in Milford, and I was looking for a location,” he said.
Over the next 10 months, Malia looked at several different buildings.
“During that time, we took a trip down to Florida with Patrick Oliver and his wife, and we introduced them to pickleball,” said Malia. “At that time, I told my friends I was in the process of trying to find an indoor facility. They said it was a great idea and said they would like to partner up if I was interested.”
The proposed 13,000-square-foot indoor pickleball facility will contain five padded pickleball courts, a small men’s and women’s locker room with restrooms (no showers), an office, a small storage room, and a customer waiting area near the front.
“We started getting the lease squared away,” Malia continued. “We brought another couple as business partners, Ryan and Danielle Geddes.”
Malia said they plan to have classes and lessons for beginners and host events throughout the year.
