Milford Irish Festival Set For September: Here's What You Need To Know

MILFORD, CT – One of Milford’s most popular festivals is set for September, and it features 15 lives bands.

The Irish Heritage Society of Milford presents Milford Irish Festival on Sept. 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Fowler Field, Rotary Pavilion, 1 Shipyard Lane.

Tickets cost $7 For Friday, $10 for Saturday, or $15 for both days. Children under 12 are free.

Parking is limited. Ridesharing is strongly encouraged. Transportation will be provided to Milford Train Station, Parsons Complex and Milford Senior Center.

The festivities start on Friday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. with opening ceremonies, and at 7 p.m., Band of Brothers take the stage, followed by Jolly Beggars at 9 p.m.

Saturday’s opening ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. with the first act, the Mulkerin School of Irish Dance, taking the stage at 1 p.m. Other performances on Saturday include The Alehounds at 2 p.m., Ireland the Band at 4 p.m., Colleen and the Night Visitors at 6 p.m., Bobby Morrill at 7:30 p.m. and it all ends with Keltic Kick at 8:30 p.m.

There will be a Cultural Tent with a lineup of bands during both days of the Milford Irish Festival.

The only band in the cultural tent on Friday will be Sharon O’Meara Band, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday’s lineup for the cultural tent includes Fairfield Gaelic Pipe Band at noon, Kerry Boys at 12:30 p.m., Lenihan School of Irish Dance at 2:35 p.m., Tara Theatre Company at 3:20 p.m., Brennan-Lucey Irish Dance Academy at 4:05 p.m. and Sharon O’Meara Band at 5 p.m.

Several food vendors will be at the Irish Festival, including Duffy’s Tavern (Friday only), Silver Sands Pizza, The Plate, Cousins, Calandrelli Kettlecorn, Shoreline Prime Meats & Deli, East Haven Culinary Department, Walnut Beach Creamery and more.

Beer and Wine sales are cash only. An ATM will be available onsite.
