Milford Lifeguard Honored For Saving Young Man's Life

MILFORD, CT – Milford Mayor Richard Smith honored a lifeguard who saved a young man from drowning.

Avery Falco, a lifeguard at Walnut Beach, was starting her shift when a young man jumped off the pier and quickly began yelling for help.

Falco reacted quickly, jumped into action, brought the young man to shore and immediately began caring for him with another lifeguard on duty.

When first responders arrived, Falco calmly and precisely explained what had happened.

First responders were impressed with how she handled the situation and said the positive outcome was due to Falco’s quick response.
