Stolen Vehicle Taken In Armed Carjacking Found In Milford: Police
Police said the man told the tow truck driver the vehicle was his brother's, and he was done putting money into it.
MILFORD, CT — Police said a New Haven man was found with a loaded firearm at the right lower calf of his leg and a razor blade in his rear pocket at the Pilot Travel Center.
At 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, police said a report came into the Milford Police Department from a tow truck drive reporting a suspicious man. The man, later identified as Lydell Elliot, 31, of New Haven, gave the tow truck driver the keys to a vehicle stating that it was his brother’s car and he was “done putting money into it,” and walked away, police said.
Police said the vehicle was confirmed stolen, taken in an armed carjacking earlier in Bridgeport. The suspect’s description from the carjacking was given, matching the suspicious man, Elliot, walking toward the Pilot Travel Center, police said.

Police said officers checked the area and found a suspect matching the description. The tow truck driver positively identified him as Elliot, the man he had encountered with the disabled vehicle.
Elliot was taken into custody, and as he was being patted down, he began moving and became fidgety, police said.

Police said Elliot disclosed to officers that he had a gun at the right lower half of his leg. In addition, a loaded firearm was located, along with a razor blade in his rear pocket, police said.
Officers identified Elliot as the suspect, a convicted felon, police said.
Elliot was charged with a criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, carrying a pistol without a permit and first-degree larceny, police said.
Elliot was taken into custody and given a $25,000 bond, police said.
Police officials said Elliot couldn’t post his bond and was arraigned in Milford Superior Court on May 30.
Milford Police Department is investigating the carjacking with the Bridgeport Police Department.
