Free Fraud Alert Program Offered In Milford: Here's How To Sign Up
Calls to Milford's City Clerk's Office from property owners concerned about fraudulent transfers have increased, Karen Fortunati said.

MILFORD, CT — A free tool to help protect Milford property owners from fraud is available, according to Karen Fortunati, Milford City Clerk.
Fortunati said with the recent fraud allegation in Fairfield, the Milford City Clerk's Office has been getting an increased number of calls from property owners concerned about fraudulent transfers or liens filed without notification.
Property owners can sign up for the online fraud alert program to receive alerts whenever a document such as a deed, mortgage or lien is recorded in their name, Fortunati said.

The document can be viewed online or at the Milford City Clerk’s Office.

“This alert system will provide peace of mind. It’s easy – all you need to do is register your name and email address. If a document is recorded in our office, you will get a notification and can call us for more information,” Fortunati said.
