Saturday Morning Music with Al deCant

Saturday, June 3 at 10:30 a.m. for ages 0-5

Join us for a highly interactive music and movement program! Children and their caregivers will sing, clap, dance, march, and play various musical instruments. This program will promote development in music aptitude, pitch, melody, rhythm, language, imagination, motor skills, cultural awareness, and creative expression.


Build It! Family STEM Playtime

Tuesday, June 13, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for ages five and up.

Keva planks, LEGOS, Picasso Tiles, and more. Stations for STEM play will be in the Children’s program room.


Goodnight, Library

Thursday, June 15 at 6 p.m. for ages five and under.

Visit the library for an evening of family story time before you turn in for the night.


Welcome Summer!

Summer Story Walk at Eisenhower Park

There’s a new Story Walk book for summer! Harborside Middle School students wrote and illustrated their story, It All Started with a Lima Bean. Paul Fleishman’s, Seedfolks inspired this narrative. The StoryWalk promotes literacy and exercise in young children and encourages families to spend time together in nature.


Put the Bear in Bear-dsley Zoo Summer Giveaway!

Saturday, June 17, during open hours.

See who’s prowling at the library! Children and their families are invited to look for “bear” books in the Children’s Department! Scratch-off tickets with prizes for Beardsley Zoo will be hidden inside. Prizes include family memberships, animal adoption kits, gift shop discounts, ice cream, carousel rides, and more! One prize per family while supplies last. Visit Beardsley Zoo’s newest Andean Bear habitat and visit milfordlibrary.org to learn more about our discount passes to the Beardsley Zoo and other cultural attractions.


Friends of the Milford Library Summer Book Sale

Saturday, June 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside the lower entrance of the library. Like new children’s books and adult trade paperbacks! Everything is $2.00.

The sale will be in the library’s main program room in case of rain.


Summer Reading 2023: Find Your Voice!

Outdoor Stories and Songs

Mondays, June 26, July 10 and 24, and Aug. 7 and 21 at 10:30 a.m. for ages zero to five.

Join us at the Fowler Pavilion behind the library to share stories and songs! We will read, sing, dance, and play with sidewalk chalk, bubbles, and more! This program is weather dependent.

No seating will be provided, so bring a beach chair or blanket.


The Fairies are Coming!

Fairy Stories at Walnut Beach on Wednesday, June 21, at 6 p.m.

Join the Children’s Department at the annual Fairy Frolic for some fairy and beach-themed stories and fun! Come dressed in your finest fairy attire.


Food Explorers: Fairy Tea Party

Tuesday, June 27, at 2:30 p.m. for ages four to eight.

Join Food Explorers for a Fairy Tea Party! Dress in your finest fairy dresses to meet the MyPlate Fairies. You’ll help them choose which foods belong on their plates, and you’ll make a delicious fairy bread snack. This recipe is nut free but may contain dairy.

Registration is required.


Bring the Hoopla: Find Your Voice!

Thursday, June 29 at 11 a.m. for grades kindergarten through fifth grade.

Bring the Hoopla brings the fun back into fitness with their high energy, a unique program where they use hula hoops as the main tool! They build self-confidence, focus on teamwork and creativity, and encourage self-expression through the journey of positive movement.
