Milford's 2023 Fall Bulk Waste Pickup Program Dates Released
The dates and details for the popular bulk trash pickup program has been released by Milford officials.

MILFORD, CT — The Office of Mayor Rich Smith has released Milford’s Fall Bulk Waste Pickup Program schedule.
The following is the planned 2023 Bulk Trash Pickup Schedule. The dates are subject to change.
- Monday Garbage Day, your bulk pickup will begin on Monday, Sept. 11.
- Tuesday Garbage Day, your bulk pickup will begin Monday, Sept. 18.
- Thursday garbage day, your bulk pickup will begin Monday, Sept. 25.
- Friday garbage day, your bulk pickup will begin Monday, Oct. 2.
Milford’s Fall Bulk Waste Pickup Program requires the homeowner to prepare and separate the following acceptable bulky waste items.

- Small bulk waste items must be bagged or boxed.
- Compostable yard waste must be placed in disposable paper bags only (No plastic bags).
- Brush and wood must be cut, tied, and bundled in lengths four-foot or less.
- Passenger car tires (four tires max) must be separated from other waste.
- Metal must be no longer than four-foot lengths and separated from other waste.
- Electronics and white goods must be separated from other waste.
- Bulk waste must be placed away from regular trash/recycling containers.
- Bulk waste must be set out for collection no sooner than the Saturday before the scheduled pickup.
Similar items should be placed together in bags and containers. All acceptable items placed at the curb will be taken, including containers.
Hazardous waste is not accepted during Milford’s Fall Bulk Waste Pickup Program. However, Residential hazardous waste drop-off is available at HazWaste Central, 90 Sargent Drive in New Haven.

Liquid Waste, including oil-based paint, is not accepted during Milford’s Fall Bulk Waste Pickup Program. Paints, including oil-based and latex, may be dropped off at Colony Paint, 282 Boston Post Rd. Colony Paint accepts latex and oil-based house paint, stains and varnish in containers up to five gallons. It does not accept aerosols (spray paint or other spray products), containers without original labels, or leaking or empty containers.
Propane and helium tanks are not accepted during Milford’s Fall Bulk Waste Pickup Program. Propane and helium tank drop-off dates will be noticed for 2023 once the schedule is available.
Grass clippings, logs and stumps are not accepted during Milford’s Fall Bulk Waste Pickup Program. Grass clippings may be brought to Grillo Services, 11832 Oronoque Rd.
Sheetrock, concrete/cement, bricks, porcelain tubs, sinks or toilets and other demolition materials. These materials and other construction demolition debris may be brought to Waste Conversion/City Carting, 221 Old Gate Ln.
