MILFORD--Milford residents who have a craving for an authentic, Italian grinder can now enjoy lunch at the new Nardelli's Grinder Shoppe.
The family-owned business chain, with 12 other locations throughout the state, opened a new store at 315 Old Gate Lane, The New Haven Register reports. From grinders to salads to cannolis, the restaurant is a family enterprise.
Originally founded in 1922 by the Nardelli family, the sub shop remains family-run and continues the tradition of the famous Italian grinders. Tuscan-born Rina "mama" Nardelli, 77, creates the shop's recipes and still visits the stores to do taste tests, The New Haven Register reports.
