Obituary: Carmella Theresa Dziczkowski, 88

Carmella Theresa Dziczkowski, 88, died peacefully on July 22, 2023, at Carriage Green Assisted Living in Milford, Conn.

Carmella was born on July 20, 1935, in Westport, Conn., to the late Gabriele and Louise Biafore—beloved wife of the late Walter Dziczkowski Jr.

Carmella worked for many years in the circulation department for the Milford Citizen and New Haven Register Newspapers. As an avid reader, she also spent her free time volunteering in the library for Meadowside School. She was recognized for her efforts with an award named after her that honored citizenship and volunteer work within the school.

Carmella was known for her impeccable baking, family favorites including pumpkin bread and famous sour cream cookies.

She loved watching sports of all kinds and never missed one of her grandchildren’s baseball games. She enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, and spending time with her sister Gloria, her lifelong best friend. She was kind, independent, and considerate, but above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Carmella is survived by her two beloved sons: Anthony Dziczkowski and his wife, Natalie Dziczkowski, and Michael Dziczkowski and his wife, Jodi Dziczkowski. Four grandchildren: Michael Dziczkowski Jr., Carsan Dziczkowski, Ethan Dziczkowski and his wife Jessie, and Jacob Dziczkowski. Two great-grandchildren: August and Roane. She is also survived by sister Gloria Simone and three nephews: Joseph Simone and his wife Tammy, Anthony Biafore and his wife Becky, and Paul Biafore and his wife, Susan. She is predeceased by her brother Gabriel Biafore and his wife, Kathy.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Carriage Green Assisted Living for their kindness and compassionate and loving care of their beloved Carmella.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a prayer service to begin at 12:30 p.m.

An Interment to follow at Kings Highway Cemetery in Milford, Conn.
