Obituary: Helen DellaMonica, 82, Of Milford

Helen worked for many years for Air Lock Corporations, in which she assisted in manufacturing helmets and spacesuits for NASA.

Helen M. DellaMonica passed away peacefully on June 26, 2023, at Milford Hospital while surrounded by her loving family.

Helen was born on May 10, 1941, in Yonkers, NY, to the late Edward and Margaret Yavorski. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Joseph S. DellaMonica Sr.

Helen worked for many years for Air Lock Corporations, in which she assisted in manufacturing helmets and spacesuits for NASA. Helen was incredibly proud of her contributions to NASA’s aerospace explorations.

In her free time, Helen loved activities that engaged her mind.

Whether that was completing her daily crossword puzzles with her family or finishing her latest mystery novel. She found great happiness in cooking and baking for her family and was known for making the best pound cake around.

However, most of all, she was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who love her.

Helen is survived by her two beloved children: daughter Ann Margaret Modena and her husband Jason Modena, and son Joseph S. DellaMonica Jr. and his wife, Linda DellaMonica. Four grandchildren: Brianna DellaMonica, Gabriella DellaMonica, Joseph DellaMonica III, and Samantha Modena. As well as her sister Barbara “Bobbi” Kachnic and many additional family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband, Joseph Sr., she is predeceased by her sisters: Peggy Vrabel, Kathy Mulvihill, and Mickey Wall.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, June 30, at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 1, at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., at 10:30 a.m.
