Obituary: Josephine "Jody" Robinson, 86, Of Milford

Jody was a remarkable businesswoman, participated in multiple charitable organizations and was the Connecticut Mother of the Year in 1988.

Josephine (Jody) Robinson Culmone died peacefully in her home on May 29th at 86 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s.

Jody graduated from Hunter College and Hefley Business School in New York and was the Executive Vice President and Principal of Connecticut Insurance Center in Milford, CT.

Jody was a remarkable businesswoman whose achievements included: President and Member of the Board of Directors for Network of Executive Women, Board of Directors and Member of the Milford Chamber of Commerce, first female Chamber of Commerce Businessperson of the year, Board of Directors for Milford Bank, Founder of the Milford Consortium for Childcare Initiatives and the first female invited into the Milford Rotary Club. She was also honored by the Girl Scouts as a Woman of Distinction.

Jody was a kind and giving person who actively participated in many charitable organizations. She held several positions in the United Way, including Finance Chair, Industrial Chair, General Campaign Chair, and President. In addition, she worked tirelessly in support of the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. In 1988, Jody was honored by then-Governor Bill O’Neill as Connecticut Mother of the Year.

Jody is survived by her loving husband, Vincent Culmone of Woodbridge, her four sons, Vincent, Steven, Douglas and Jeffrey, her ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be private.
