Lyman H. Potter, age 85, longtime resident of Milford, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 9, 2014, at Milford Hospital. Born on October 10, 1928, in Fitzgerald, GA, he was the son of the late Lyman H. and Alice Mary Curran Potter.
He graduated from Quincy College in Quincy, IL with a degree in language and taught at the Cheshire Academy.
Inducted into the Army, Lyman served with honor during the Korean War.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for Schiavone Scrap Metal Co. in New Haven.
An avid sailor, Lyman also enjoyed fine dining and classical music.
He is survived by his dear friends, Jack Murray of CA, and Al Della Russo and Patty Blanchard, both of Orange.
He was predeceased by his partner, Norman Horton. Friends and family are welcome to attend a Celebration of Lyman’s Life on Thursday, May 22 at 12:00 PM at Jeffrey’s Restaurant, 501 New Haven Ave., Milford, CT 06460.
