Obituary: Nicholas Barone, 82, Of Milford

Nicholas J. Barone, of Milford, passed away on June 14, 2023. He was born on September 26, 1941, to the late John Barone and Mary Testa Barone in Woodbridge.

He was the beloved husband of Kathryn Shanley Barone and the proud father of Nicholas Barone (Jamey), Stephen Barone (Nickelle), and Kristine Barone. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Barone (Harriet), his grandson Antonio Threet and his many nieces and nephews. Nick was predeceased by his brother Jack Barone.

He was a member of the class of 1959 at Notre Dame High School of West Haven.

After that, he attended Rensselaer, West Point, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Worcester Polytech, class of 1965. He served in the US Army. He worked at GE of Pittsfield and then for Olin Corporation.

Nick had a love for nature, sailing, and gardening. He was an avid fan of the NY Giants.

In his retirement years, he enjoyed family, friends and traveling. He was a member of the Milford Kiwanis Club, the Milford Columbus Committee and the American Legion Post 196.

Nick was a beloved friend and community member who will be missed by all who knew him.

Family and Friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St.
