Obituary: Patricia Ella Crocker, 80, of Milford
Patricia, a self-taught cake decorator, owned and operated The Gingerbread Haus in Milford for many years.
MILFORD, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) Patricia Ella Crocker, 80, of Milford, passed away on April 12, 2022. She was the beloved wife of James Sprague Crocker, to whom she was married for 57 years. Born on August 21, 1941 in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late William and Christine Pollock.
A graduate of Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, Patricia worked at various jobs as she and Jim raised their family in Milford. Among friends and family, Patricia was best known for her incredible artful baking.
A self-taught cake decorator, she owned The Gingerbread Haus, a cake decorating supply shop and wedding cake business in Milford.
Patricia was intensely proud of her grandparents’ Greek heritage, and was grateful to travel there with Jim, in addition to trips they took together to Bermuda, Quebec, and local destinations through the years.
She was an avid gardener, a gifted cook who loved planning elaborate holiday dinners for her family, and an ardent Kris Kristofferson fan. She loved children and worked for years at nursery schools in her church community.
Her most cherished role was as a loving mother to her three children, and a doting grandmother to her six grandchildren whom she “loved to the moon and back.”
In the Greek culture, the traditional greeting when a loved one passes away is “memory eternal.”
Patricia will be remembered eternally for her creative culinary skills, humility, and kindness.
In addition to her husband, Patricia is survived by her children, Jeanne Elizabeth (Domingo) Franciamore, James Edward (Deborah) Crocker, and Dianne Patricia Crocker (Peter Swan); grandchildren Elizabeth and Domingo Franciamore; Isabella and Alexander Crocker; Monte and Aquinnah Swan; sister, Elizabeth (Arthur) Loeffel; nephew and niece, Brian and Brittany; and extended family and friends.
Family and friends may gather on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460.
A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Peter Episcopal Church, 71 River St., Milford (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Burial will follow at the Kings Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St., Milford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Peter Episcopal Church.
