Papa's Pizza in Milford Receives Review From Barstool Sports Founder

MILFORD, CT – Barstool Sports Founder and Pizza Enthusiast Dave Portnoy made a stop at Papa’s Pizza and Pasta in Milford during his recent visit to several pizzerias in Connecticut as part of his New Haven to Boston I-95 “Pizza Tour” last month.

Portnoy visited Papa’s Pizza, 258 Naugatuck Ave., location in Milford.

The post on “David Portnoy – El Presidente” Facebook page has mustered nearly 300,000 views and almost 7,000 likes.

“Pulling into this one, I was looking forward to it,” Portnoy said in the video recording released on June 5. “You know it’s going to be great when I buy the T-shirt before I ever even have the pies.”

After Portnoy did the “big reveal” and showed the camera what the pizza looked like, he took one bite.

Portnoy's famous “One Bite” pizza reviews have garnered a cult following. He'll visit a pizzeria or restaurant, sometimes unannounced, try a cheese pizza and score it on a 0-10 scale.

After taking the popular one bite, Portnoy gave Papa’s Pizza a score of 8.1.

“This definitely passes the test,” Portnoy said in the video. “This is definitely authentic New Haven style.”
