Rock Blasting and Crushing at Howard Johnson's Motel In Milford Making Neighbors Weary

A developer is planning to demolish the motel and construct a new extended stay hotel there.

A permit to continue blasting on 1052 Boston Post Road has been granted to Philip Craft, who is developing land behind Howard Johnson’s motel, according to a Milford Mirror report.

The Milford Planning and Zoning Board approved the permit extension during their meeting on Oct. 20. Neighbors have complained about the noise for some time.

The project is for Turnpike Lodge LLC, with its respective owner being Craft, who estimates blasting and rock crushing to be 93 percent complete but requested six extra months in case timelines do not stay on track.
