2016 Monroe Firefighter of the Year Award Recipients Announced
The Monroe Volunteer Fire Department recently announced the 2016 Firefighter of the Year award recipients.
Monroe, CT — The Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, No.1 Inc. recently announced the 2016 Firefighter of the Year award recipient, Kyle Matthews.
The fire department said that Matthews "was recognized for his willingness to help newer members, commitment to training, call response, and participation in our station coverage program."
The Fireman of the Year award recipient is Mike Preston. The fire department said that Preston earned the recognition "for his commitment, leadership, and professionalism in serving as lead instructor for our recently completed Firefighter I training program for new recruits from Monroe and surrounding towns."
