Rows of tables inside Easton Senior Center were filled with merchandise Tuesday afternoon. Lamps, glassware, clothing and a popcorn maker were amongst the wide selection at the tag sale fundraiser.
"The sale is from Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m." said Karen Casarin, a volunteer. "Thursday there will be really good bargains. Extra, extra bargains."
Chad, a Trumbull woman who did not want her last name published, found out about the tag sale by calling the senior center. She found a good deal on a cookie stamp.
"I'm browsing," Chad said. "There's more here than I thought."
The center is located at 650 Morehouse Road. Aside from clothes and housewares, the sale has books, toys, records and movies on VHS, including a set of "Pride and Prejudice".
Working alongside Casarin was Margaret Zelisko.
Other volunteers were Nancy Graham, Pat Corda, Jean Croll and the Domino Ladies (a group of senior center patrons who play Dominos together): Mary Jane Pierson, Sophie Radomski, Trini Vimini, Florence Eastwood, Rita O'Hara, Jerry Swanbery, Audrey Bajoros and Catherine Karosy.
All of the sale items are donated.
"When we have another tag sale in August there will be just as much stuff," said Zelisko. "People are very generous."
