Budget Referendum: Town Clerk to Extend Hours for Absentee Ballots

The Town Clerk's Office at Monroe Town Hall will be open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Residents will be going to the polls to vote on the $80.5 million town budget proposal from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. durng the referendum on April 2, but those who cannot make it may still vote by absentee ballot.

On Saturday the Town Clerk's Office will be open from 10 a.m. to noon for residents who qualify to apply for an absentee ballot.

Acceptable reasons for voting in this manner are limited to the following:

  • Absence from Town during all the hours of voting (6 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
  • Service in the Armed Forces (including the Service Academies)
  • Illness
  • Physical Disability
  • Religious tenets which forbid such activity on Voting Day.
