JANUARY 12, 2026 OIL PAINTING DEMONSTRATION BY JIM LAURINOJim Laurino, a Plein-Air painter, will present an oil painting demonstration hosted by the Shelton Art League at 1 pm on January 12, 2026 at the Shelton Community Center, 41 Church Street, Shelton, CT, 2FL, Rm #2. The league’s general meeting starts at 11:45 am. Jim, a Burlington, CT resident, studied design and color theory at the University of Connecticut. His painting style developed over time and balances impressionist’s influences with contemporary subject matter. He paints outdoor scenes of iconic locales in the Northeast, favoring Western Connecticut and the Finger Lakes region. He has a bold representational style, as shown in his scenes of rivers, lakes, seascapes, woodlands, farms, historic buildings, etc. He has paintings in numerous private collections, and has participated in many juried shows, winning various awards.
