Drug Dealer Charged in Connection With Monroe Overdose Death to Stay in Custody: Report
Two Bridgeport brothers were arrested in April on federal charges in connection with a man who fatally overdosed in Monroe.
MONROE, CT — A Bridgeport man will remain in federal custody on drug charges related to two overdoses while his attorneys seek to find him a place in a long-term drug treatment facility, the New Haven Register reported.
Erick Delgado, 39, was arrested in June along with his brother, Anoris Delgado, 28, both of Bridgeport on federal charges after an investigation into two heroin overdoses on April 25.
Deirdre M. Daly, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and Michael J. Ferguson, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New England said that an investigation into a drug overdose death of a man in Monroe and a non-fatal overdose of a man in Bridgeport has resulted in federal heroin distribution charges against the two Bridgeport brothers. The charges stem from an ongoing statewide initiative targeting narcotics dealers who distribute heroin, fentanyl or opioids that cause death or serious injury to users.
