Eversource Warns Monroe Of Electricity Scams

The company says scammers use aggressive marketing tactics and act as they are operating on the company's behalf.

MONROE, CT — The largest utility company in New England is warning Monroe customers of scams involving electricity deals, according to First Selectman Steve Vavrek. The warning detailed that scammers act like they are working on Eversource's behalf, and use aggressive marketing tactics.

At Eversource we have continued to hear stories from customers about scams involving electricity deals or aggressive marketing tactics by third party suppliers. In many of these situations, the perpetrators imply that they are working on behalf of Eversource. To combat these false claims, we at Eversource are continuing to try to educate our customers about these scams and supplier tactics.
