Every Sale's a Big Sale at the Fawn Hollow School Store
The Fawn Hollow PTO runs a school store once a month during lunch periods.
Children crowded around a display in the Fawn Hollow Elementary School lobby, checked out merchandise on a table and waited in a long line to buy school supplies at the PTO's monthly School Store on Tuesday.
Mothers volunteer running the store for students in grades 1 to 5 during their lunch periods.
"Oh my gosh, the kids love it," Debbie Lemm said of the school store. "It's a fundraiser for the school, but the kids have a blast. I think they love it because their parents give them the money and they can't tell them what to get," she added with a smile.

The children eagerly anticipate the store coming when they hear the morning announcements, according to Lemm, who said the selection includes fun school supplies like erasers, folders and bookmarks. The most popular bookmark is a Game Boy eraser.
Lemm said shopping at the store is a good learning experience for older children in grades 2 to 5.

"Some of them come with three dollars and they have it priced to the penny," she said.
All proceeds benefit PTO programs for the school. For example, the PTO purchased books for The Big Read and funded cultural assemblies.
