Jacqueline 'Jackie' Pond Sodoski, 77, of Monroe, Passed Away
She was a 15-year Monroe resident, volunteered at the Monroe Senior Center and was a parishioner of St. Jude Church in Monroe.
MONROE, CT — Jacqueline (Jackie) Pond Sodoski, age 77 of Monroe entered heaven on July 18th, 2016. Born on July, 15th 1939 in Bridgeport and raised in Stratford. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Pond and Dorothy DiMenna Pond and was the fourth of five children. She is predeceased by her sister Geraldine Pond and brothers, Frederick and Thomas Pond.
She is survived by her loyal brother, Michael Pond of Stratford; her dedicated and loving children, son Anthony Sodoski and wife Isabel of Newtown, daughters Michele McFadden of Trumbull, Darla Sodoski of Ansonia, and Pamela Sodoski Gerolimatos of Fairfield; six cherished grandchildren , Anthony and Matthew Sodoski, Nicholas and Justin Gerolimatos and Hayley and Devin McFadden.
Jackie was a 1957 graduate of Stratford High School, and as a mother of four children graduated with her Bachelor degree from Mattituck Community College. She began her career as a Dietary Technician at Milford Hospital and later in her career worked in the registrar's office at Sacred Heart University until her retirement.

Jackie has been a Monroe town resident for the past 15 years and performed volunteer work at the Monroe Senior Center. She was a woman of devout faith and a parishioner of St. Jude Church in Monroe. She enjoyed family gatherings, playing board games with her grandchildren and visiting friends, especially her weekly "Saturday breakfast" dates with her closest childhood friends. Jackie was a warm, loving, caring and nurturing mother, and a true lifetime friend to all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service was held at Pistey Funeral home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford, followed by a prayer service to celebrate her life. Interment will be private.
