Man Charged With Selling Heroin to Monroe Overdose Victim: U.S. Attorney
A man has been charged after the death of a 37-year-old overdose victim in Monroe in November.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A Bridgeport man was arrested and charged with selling heroin to a Monroe man who died of an overdose, U.S. Attorney Deirdre Daly announced Wednesday. Careem Bentley a.k.a "C-Lows," 33, of Bridgeport appeared before U.S. Judge Sara A.L. Merriam and was ordered detained.
Authorities say that the 37-year-old Monroe man was found unresponsive lying on the floor on Nov. 23 and was pronounced dead. Investigators say that the victim bought heroin from Bentley in the late evening of Nov. 22. To sign up for Monroe breaking news alerts and more, click here.
Bentley was charged with possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of, heroin, and conspiracy to distribute narcotics. The offenses carry a maximum term of 20 years in prison.
