Monroe Budget Proposal Would Include Tax Increase: Report
The Board of Education budget request has been reduced, as school officials were initially seeking a 7.15 percent increase.

MONROE, CT — The current proposed town budget of $103.67 million for fiscal 2024-25 would result in a 2 percent tax hike, according to the Monroe Sun.
The Board of Education had initially sought a 7.15 percent increase, and it has been reduced by First Selectman Terry Rooney to a 5.40 percent increase, the Monroe Sun reported.
A final budget won't be adopted until May.
