Update: Monroe Budget Referendum III: Voter Turnout Down Slightly
Turnout for the April 23 referendum was slightly higher than Tuesday, but there's still time to vote.

Update: Voter turnout continues to fall off from the last referendum. As of 4 p.m., 2,058 of Monroe's 12,615 registered voters showed at the polls (16.31%) compared to 2,237 at the same time on April 23.

Voter turnout dipped slightly since the last budget referendum, as townspeople continue to go to the polls for a third bite of the apple Tuesday. The polls will be open until 8 p.m. as Monroe decides whether or not to adopt an $80,042,285 proposal.

As of 1 p.m., 1,381 of Monroe's 12,615 registered voters (10.95%) showed at the polls, according to numbers provided by the Registrars of Voters Office. This represents a drop from the 1,462 people who participated by the same time on April 23.
On April 23, the turnout was 11.45% as of 1 p.m., .5% higher than today.
