Groups of volunteers wearing work gloves will remove trash and litter along Monroe's non-residential roads this Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon. It's all part of the Monroe Economic Development Commission event to celebrate Earth Day. According to the EDC's flier, the goal is to help make Monroe a better place to live and work. Groups, clubs and individuals are expected to participate. The EDC's flier says, "Let's use Earth Day to make a difference in Monroe."
