Monroe First Selectman Asks Pokémon GO Players to Respect Property
Vavrek is reminding residents not to walk through plantings, sit on signs/artwork or climb on trees and other objects to catch Pokémon.
MONROE, CT — The First Selectman of Monroe Steve Vavrek issued the following statement on Wednesday:
"Pokemon GO or not to go, that is the question! As in many towns, Pokemon Go is the hot new thing. It has gotten many people involved in seeing sites they never knew existed, getting exercise, actually talking to family members and meeting new friends. As with anything new, problems arise.
To all the Poke People out there, please take note of some common sense and real issues that have come up:

- Please respect private property and community properties
- Do not walk through plantings, sit on signs/artwork or climb on trees and other objects
- Please do not litter
- Please do not drive while searching
- Please look both ways before crossing a street
- Have Fun but be considerate and safe."
