MONROE, CT — Wednesday’s weather is an absolutely perfect summer weather day and then after that the heat and humidity builds just in time for a sweltering weekend beginning on Friday with temps in the 90s and the heat index approaching 100 degrees.
And in the midst of drought conditions, the only chance for rain over the next few days is on Friday afternoon and evening as we could see some thunderstorms.

It appears the only time Connecticut sees rain these days is quick bursts during thunderstorms.
NBC CT Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan wrote on Facebook that “Overnight computer guidance still points to a weekend scorcher. Mid 90s likely Saturday and Sunday. If there's some good news it's that the humidity doesn't look all that unbearable. Even so, hot is hot!”
WTNH News Meteorologist Gil Simmons wrote “What a day today! Sunshine with temperatures in the 80s. The humidity will start coming back tomorrow followed by hazy hot and humid weather for the coming weekend.”
