Monroe Library to Close Wednesdays

The library says programming for all ages will be reduced.

MONROE, CT — Due to budget cuts coming down from Hartford, the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library will be closed Wednesdays starting on July 1. Interim library director Lorna Rhyins announced June 8 that despite the closure, the Ehlers Meeting Room will continue to be available for reservation on Wednesday.

According to Rhyins announcement Singalong Stories for children will move to Mondays; monthly adult book discussions and Friends of the Library Book Sale will move to Tuesdays.

"Programming for all ages will, unfortunately, be reduced," wrote Rhyins.
