Monroe National Night Out Includes Magician, Slip-n-Slide, Fun for Everyone

There will be a K9 demo, Touch-a-Truck, boating and ATV safety and info, police vehicles and more at the Monroe event.

MONROE, CT — Monroe Police are participating in Target’s National Night Out. There will be a K9 demonstration, police vehicles, Touch-a-Truck, bounce house, DJ, boating and ATV safety information and more. The event will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 5-9 p.m. at Wolfe Park, 285 Cutler's Farm Road in Monroe, Conn.

According to their website, National Night Out was established in 1984 with funding from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and the U.S. Department of Justice in order to develop and maintain crime prevention activities. "National Night Out was developed as a crime prevention program that emphasizes building a partnership between the police and the community. Community involvement in crime prevention is generated through a multitude of local events, such as block parties, cookouts, parades, contests, youth activities, and seminars," the website states.
