Monroe Teachers Collaborate on 'STEM Night at the Observatory'

The event took place in conjunction with fifth-grade Trumbell teacher Steve Lemoine on Thursday, March 30.

From a Monroe Reader:

The stars aligned when Monroe teachers Lili Michols and Nicole Williams collaborated with Steve Lemoine, fifth-grade Trumbull teacher and astronomy expert, to host "STEM Night at the Observatory." Thursday, March 30, STEM students and their families gathered at Trumbull's Middlebrook School Observatory for a viewing of Jupiter and a nebula in deep space.

Additionally, students used their technology to identify Orion, the Little Dipper and Big Dipper, several other constellations and notable stars Polaris and Sirius. The night was made complete by a coincidental fly-by of an international space station.
