This letter was sent out by Governor Malloy last week. He sent this letter to his budget director, Ben Barnes. It explains how the Governor feels it's necessary to now seriously consider making further cuts to our municipal aid. Ben Barnes followed suit yesterday by distributing this letter to our towns, along with a form inquiring about our fund balances and our contingency plans for dealing with the state budget. Monroe has been managed as efficiently and as lean as possible, for years. Please stand with your Monroe elected officials and fight this insanity coming from Governor Malloy and the Hartford majority of elected officials. It's called COMPROMISE folks. there are options being proposed that aren't even being listened to. Let your voice be heard. Thank you.
