New Candidate Emerges In Monroe First Selectman's Race: Report
Three candidates will vie for the First Selectman's seat in November.

MONROE, CT — A third candidate for the soon-to-be open Monroe First Selectman's seat, reports the Monroe Courier. Frank Bennett has filed to become an unaffiliated candidate for the seat to be left by current First Selectman Steve Vavrek.
Bennett told the publication he is concerned with the town and the taxpayers in town, and not with the Democratic and Republican Parties.
He also stated he wants to focus on bringing new businesses to town and repairing roads. The election which will determine Monroe's next First Selectman will be held in November.
