Obituary: Nancy (Weed) Samonek, 73, of Monroe
Nancy, devoted wife and mother, worked many years as a secretary for Remington Arms and Avco-Lycoming.
MONROE, CT - (From Pistey Funeral Home) Nancy (Weed) Samonek, age 73, of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth Samonek.
Nancy was born in Bridgeport to the late William Worth and Mary Rose Weed.
She graduated from Bassick High School.
Nancy worked as a secretary for Remington Arms, where she met Ken, and later at Avco-Lycoming.
She was an avid fan of over 50 years of the soap opera, General Hospital. Nancy enjoyed drawing and working with electronic coloring books.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two beloved children, Katherine and Joseph Samonek; and her cousins, Sandra and Robert Bellitto.
She was predeceased by her son, Victor Weed.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11 am at Monroe Cemetery (Route 110 and Old Tannery Rd).
