St. Peter's Episcopal Church On the Green's annual tag sale will continue for one more day, when it goes on from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday.
Books, kitchenware and toys will be sold under the tent outside the church at 175 Old Tannery Road.
Alice Whaller of Monroe, a volunteer, said parishioners and friends of parishioners donated the items.
"Some people who saw the tag sale going on stopped by and left stuff for us, so I guess people are clearing out their basements," Whaller said Friday.
The weather has been hot, but tag sale shoppers will be able to cool down at the lemonade and iced tea stand children from the church school will be operating.
All proceeds from the stand will go toward buying bricks and concrete blocks for the construction of Megumeto Nursery School for children in Mozambique, Africa.
Whaller said those children have to walk at least one mile each way to fetch fresh water in a bucket, adding the school building will be designed to collect water on the roof.
