Not All Council Members Agree on Budget Cuts
Town Council members Nick Kapoor and Dee Dee Martin told the Board of Finance they had opposed several of the cuts made by the majority of their board.

As the Board of Finance reviews the $81.3 million budget proposal for 2013-14 that had been approved by the Town Council, two council Democrats want board members to know there was not a complete consensus on all of the $475,983 worth of cuts that had been made.
"When you look at the reductions, please understand that not every one of the council members thought it was the right thing to do," said Councilwoman Dee Dee Martin, one of the three Democrats on the nine-member council.
Among some of the requests Martin and Councilman Nick Kapoor said they disagreed with was a $10,000 cut for mental health counseling, $1,000 for raises for the two deputy registrars and elimination of two new police dispatchers, for example.
