Agostinho Dasilva obituary: Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven CT

Agostinho Rebimbas Dasilva, 75, of New Haven passed away August 9, 2025 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born January 14, 1950 in Murtosa, Portugal to Agostinho Jose and Elvira (Rebimbas) Dasilva. Agostinho is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Cynthia (Leites) Dasilva and his five siblings; Elvira Rebelo (Antonio) of Naugatuck, Antonio Dasilva (Fatima) of Prospect, Augusto Dasilva (Joana) of Southbury, Gloria de Oliveira (Servio) of Portugal and Jose Dasilva (Catarina) of Naugatuck. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Albert Leites (June) of West Haven, sister-in-law, Laura Dasilva of Florida and numerous nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews.
Agostinho is preceded in death by his parents and two siblings; Amalia Reis and Manuel Dasilva.
Agostinho enjoyed his early years in Portugal until emigrating with his family to the United States in 1969. He settled in Naugatuck and, upon his marriage, made New Haven his home. He was employed there by Ingersoll Rand for 32 years. He had many favorite activities like traveling, biking, going to the casino and also, just relaxing with gardening, listening to music and watching soccer.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Friday August 15, 2025 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 16 at 10 AM in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal/Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
