Man Faces Child Porn Charges After Home, Phone Searched: Naugatuck PD

A man accused of kissing a 10-year-old child in a video on social media last year has been arrested on new charges, according to police.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A Naugatuck man accused of kissing a 10-year-old child in a video on social media last year faces child pornography charges after police searched his home and phone, according to police.

William L. Gordon, 45, was arrested Oct. 14, 2023 after police investigated a report from a parent regarding a video posted to social media that showed him kissing the child.

Police said at the time that Gordon admitted to kissing the child as part of a social media trend. He was charged with of cruelty to persons and risk of injury to a juvenile and impairing morals. He has pleaded not guilty to those charges with a court date of Sept. 30, according to state judicial records.

Detectives continued to investigate the case after the initial arrest and obtained search warrants for Gordon’s home and phone, according to police.

Police said additional evidence was found and an arrest warrant was issued for Gordon, who turned himself in at the Naugatuck Police Department on Thursday.

Gordon was charged with promoting a minor in obscene performance and possession of child pornography. He was being held in lieu of a $200,000 bond with a court date of Sept. 30, according to judicial records.
