Naugatuck 2023 Election Voter Guide: Candidates, Polling Places
Here's everything you need to know concerning the 2023 Naugatuck local elections, including candidates, polling places, and voting hours.

NAUGATUCK, CT β On Nov. 7, Naugatuck residents cast their votes for several key municipal positions.
Contested races include: mayor, burgess, town treasurer and the school board.
Polls in Connecticut are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can use the Secretary of Stateβs website to find your polling place. Voters who are in line by 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Connecticut also allows for Election Day registration at designated centers in each town. People must be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote using Election Day registration.
To receive your absentee ballot, complete and sign an application and return it to your Town Clerk, or you can request an absentee ballot online.

Mayor, Town Clerk, Town Treasurer and Tax Collector
In Naugatuck, incumbent Pete Hess, a Democrat, is running for mayor against Steven Kilmer, a Republican. For town clerk, Michelle Dowling is running unopposed as both a Democrat and Republican. For town treasurer, Shagufta Zahid, a Democrat, is running for town treasurer against Adam Bronko, a Republican. For tax collector, Democrat Jim Goggin is running against Republican Helen Northrup.
Burgess
For burgess, you'll vote for up to six people. Democratic candidates include: Kimberly Gallo, Rocky Vitale, Charley Marenghi, Fran Dambowsky, Julie Rosenblatt and Carolyn Autore. Republican candidates are: Meghan Smith, Anthony Rykowski, Jan Mizeski, Mike Bronko, Robert Neth and Dorothy Neth-Kunin.
Board of Education
For Board of Education, you'll vote for up to five people. Democratic candidates include: James Scully, Jason Celozzi, Ethel Grant, Bob Mezzo and Jeff Litke. Republican candidates are: Alicia Makowski, Erika Clements, Alejandro Ramirez, Nicole VanDyke and Marilyn O'Donnell.
Planning and Zoning Commissions
For the Planning and Zoning commissions, you'll vote for up to two people. Republican candidates for the Planning Commission are Robert Clark and Robert Pease. There are no Democratic candidates.
For the Zoning Commission, the Democratic candidates are Neil Mascola and Francis Santana. The Republican candidates are Richard Cool and Jason Possemato.
Bailiffs
For bailiffs, you'll vote for up to four people. The candidates are: Daniel Renzoni, Regina Jasmine, Kristi Pistarelli and Evabeth Kloc.
