Naugatuck 2024 Election Results: Winners In Key Races Revealed

The polls have closed in Naugatuck for the 2024 elections, and here are the latest updates on how local residents voted.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” Shortly after the polls closed Tuesday night, vice President Kamala Harris was announced as the winner of Connecticut's seven electoral college votes, defeating former President Donald J. Trump and three other candidates, according to the Associated Press.

Also, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, won re-election and a third term in Congress, according to projections. He defeated GOP challenger Matthew M. Corey and two other candidates.

For U.S. Congress, the Associated Press also reports Democrat Rosa DeLauro is the projected winner in District 3 over Republican Michael Massey, according to unofficial results.

For state representative in District 131, Republican Arnold Jensen is the projected winner after Democrat Ellen Fox conceded to her opponent on social media Tuesday night, according to unofficial results.

"Had a great team who worked really hard with me. I'm proud of the work we did," Fox wrote on Facebook. "Met wonderful people throughout the 131st. We all had an experience of a lifetime and we didn’t win. I called Arnold Jensen to congratulate him and wished him luck."

In District 70, Republican Seth Bronko is the projected winner after Democrat Jeff Litke conceded to Bronko on social media Tuesday night, according to unofficial results.

"Unfortunately we were not successful in today's election," Litke wrote on Facebook. "I want to thank all the voters in Naugatuck. Whether you cast your vote for me or not it’s amazing to see democracy in action and see voters come out to the polls. I’m not going anywhere and will continue to be an active loud voice in our borough!"

Additionally, Democrat Jorge Cabrera, who ran for state senator in District 17, and Democrat Joan V. Hartley, a candidate for state representative in District 15, are projected winners in their respective races after running unopposed.

For Registrar of Voters the candidates were: Louise Sheedy, Democrat, and Matthew Katra, Republican.

Connecticut voters also were asked to decide on the following ballot question: "Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?"

CT Insider reports the absentee ballot question has passed, with over 50 percent of voters selecting "yes," according to unofficial results.
